So, I've been on a pretty hardcore exercise regimen for the last six weeks. Hardcore as in I got almost every day, unless I'm out of town, and take kickboxing and weight training classes twice a week in addition to running and regular workouts. Okay, so maybe that's not *hardcore*, but for me, who went from doing nothing but sitting around this winter...that's hardcore. :) Problem is, I haven't lost
one.
single.
pound.
since I started. How can this be? I'm on a strict two shake a day diet with a salad for dinner, while exercising my ass off! So I started off being a completely lazy blob, stuffing my face all day with junk food, to eating much better and exercising and it might as well all be for nothing it feels like. I'm literally hungry all the time now, and even after I treat myself to a little snack like hummus, within the next half hour my stomach is growling LOUDLY. Loud enough that people comment on it. I just don't understand unless it is because of my birth control pills. I'm on Jolivette, it's not the combination kind which I was on before, and when I went on this pill is when I started gaining weight. I gained it fast, blew up 20 pounds since October, and I thought it was from me just being lazy around the house (which I'm sure didn't help).
I'll be going off of them soon, just as an experiment to see if that helps (because from what I've read online, I'm not the only one who has gained an excessive amount of weight in a short time on these damn non combination pills and then has trouble losing it.)
I thought I'd try my hand at intermittent fasting. The idea is you fast one day a week and it helps the fat melt off faster and muscle build faster. It's an interesting article that I linked to, very informative. I wouldn't mind the IF either, as I used to be able to go pretty much a whole day without eating when I was busy and just forgot. I absolutely hate that my stomach is always growling and hungry causing me to think about food every 10 minutes. I just hate revolving my life around food when it was never that way before.
Even now, I just ate a nice big delicious salad about 20 minutes ago, and I feel starving.
Something's gotta start giving here.

Rockabilly Style
I have really been in to the rockabilly, psychobilly style lately! I sure don't know how to style hair nicely but I was thinking of trying to practice victory rolls and pompadour styles. I'm also planning to start this little project soon, a cute little rockabilly style dress:
http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/katjusha
The pattern is free, so I figured why not? Plus it could serve a duel purpose if I can make it correctly...it looks really similar to the Pre-War Spring Outfit from Fallout. Woo-hoo, I found a way to make it cosplay related. haha.
Planning on going to Joannes to look for fabric next week. Should be fun!
Also on an (un?) related note? I unfortunately have been really liking the style for Milla's Jovovich character (Alice) in the new resident evil movie. I know those movies are practically an abomination compared to the games, but I think they are fun in their own way. And I really like her new outfit. Another new outfit I discovered I really like is the new look for Lara Croft. I might have to add these two to my ever-growing list...

A New Year!
Wow! A new year is here already! I haven't written in this for a while,
I know. Let's see how many new years resolutions I can break this
year:
1) Get in shape! (Almost certain to be broken by next month, but we'll see...)
2) Actually finish something I'm writing! (I'll give that one about 6 or 7 months before it's broken. I have lots of ideas, I just feel extremely lazy lately)
3) Pay off most of my debt! (HA! Well...we'll see...)
Okay three's enough for now.
It has been extremely cold here lately. -31 out in Willow when we all woke up New Year's day. It was cold enough to keep food frozen on my windowsill overnight! Wow. Well classes are going wonderfully, I must say. I start a new job on February 1 (Programmer/Analyst 1 job). I was trying not to write it too much anywhere until I actually move over to that department, but I am just so extremely excited. SO EXCITED. I can't wait to be over there. My work will help me with school and my school will help me with work. I just...seriously can't wait. Speaking of school classes start next week. I still need to buy books, they are just so expensive.
I hope this new year brings a lot of good things! For everyone! 2012 has to be good! There have just been so many unhappy years in a row for so many people, I just want things to start looking up now.
Dash got me Skyrim for Christmas....I have been so addicted to it. I know I have heard so many stories about how it craps out at around 40-60 hours of gameplay on the PS3, but here's hoping they make a patch to fix that before I get there. :) haha!

Psychology and Coworkers
Okay, so, forcing myself to log on and write a blog every week is pretty interesting. Time seems to just be flying by, but that is happening a lot lately.
I'm sitting here, writing a psychology paper on perceptual interference, and wondering about the my job. For some reason reading this "Understanding Psychology" book makes me think a lot about my coworkers. See, my coworkers are very...interesting. They say and do the most interesting things, and by interesting I mean "sometimes extremely rude" or "sometimes extremely idiotic". I would love to start a blog, or something along the lines for some of the unbelievable things I hear while at the office. It's hard though. Do I do it? Potentially if anyone figured out just who I was speaking of, I would probably be in trouble. I posted one on my tumblr today, mostly because my coworker just made me pretty angry. I could do the blog, but never say my place of employment or coworker names. Just call them A, B, C, D, etc. I don't even know if that would work with all of the privacy crap going around these days. Maybe someday I will. Maybe I will take a log of everything I hear, and when I leave the department, just post stuff. I mean, some of it is so unbelievable to hear in the workplace and I would just love to share. Now I understand when a former coworker of mine wanted to write a book about the things he hears women talk about. (His desk was surrounded by female coworkers, so he got to hear all kinds of gossip.)
Well, I think I will get back to my writings on psychology. Possibly go to sleep soon too. It's been a long week.

Dear Alpha Hydrox
Dear Alpha Hydrox,
I think we can finally be friends. It took a few weeks, but slowly things are starting to work out.
Ha ha, I had meat to write this blog post as a letter to the Alpha Hydrox products I've been using, but I ran out of steam. My face is finally clearing up. And not just clearing up complexion wise, but everything is starting to smooth out, all the fine lines and wrinkles that I've been starting to develop over the last year or so.
So I've been using the products for about 2 weeks now, and I'm not going to lie, the first few weeks my face looked hideous. It was red, blotchy, I had a rash of zits across my right cheek and forehead, but slowly my face got used to the products and it started calming down. I even had a few people compliment my skin Friday and say how great it looked! I had been keeping a really close eye on my smile lines, hoping I would start to see them fade a little bit, and as I was watching those, I didn't even really notice how it was effectively obliterating all the little lines and crow's feet around my eyes. So needless to say, I am very happy with how my skin is looking lately.
I'll continue to use these products morning and night and report back in about a month to see if my skin keeps improving, or starts getting worse again. If anyone stumbles upon this blog while browsing the internet for Alpha Hydrox, I definitely recommend it, although the first few weeks might be a little rough on the face. Just stick with it!

Dragon*Con Wrap-Up
I know, it has already been a good month since Dragon*Con ended. I am still experiencing post-con depression! Or maybe that's other things, but at any rate, I had a fabulous time at Dragon*Con 2011! I admit, a few things didn't go exactly smooth, and I will work hard to change those around so everything will run as smooth as possible next year! Or at least, next time I go. Although I would love to be able to go next year, and am still hoping against everything, things just aren't looking that great for me to be able to go. It's kind of a huge let down, as Dragon*Con weekend is the one I look forward to the most all year.
As for the awesome, fun time I had; it was fantastic to be able to see my friends. Just...amazing. If you're reading this, I miss you a lot all year, then to getting to see you all in that weekend is one of the big things that really makes me look forward to Dragon*Con all year! I saw so many amazing costumes this year, I just didn't have time to get pictures of them all! (For...other...reasons, but that's one of the things I hope to change next time I go...) I also did not really get to use my video camera. In fact, not at all. I would like to make fun Dragon*Con video next time I go as well, I just don't have enough hands for still pictures and my video camera! :) At least I will take short videos here and there and combine them all together. Another thing I need to change...I *need* to find a good spot to watch the parade. As much as I'd love to be in it, I don't know if that will ever happen. I think I would have just as much fun watching the parade as I would being in it though. Here's a link to all of my Dragon*Con 2011 pictures.
So I suppose for the upcoming years, here is my list of costumes I am working on, and would like to be making in the future. The asterisk next to the name means I already have some work done on it, so it's currently in process. If I don't get to go to Dragon*Con next year, at least I can wear a few to our local (and growing bigger every year!) anime convention, Senshicon!:
* Babydoll - Sucker Punch (finishing all the details for Halloween)
* Yoko (Timeskip) - Gurren Lagann
* Vaultsuit Vault 11 - Fallout: New Vegas
* Jill Valentine (Battlesuit) - Resident Evil 5
Claire Redfield - Resident Evil 2
Rainbow Dash - MLP - Friendship is Magic (No judging ;-) haha)
Anya Stroud - Gears of War 3
Natalie(Envy Adams) - Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
Sonya Blade - Mortal Kombat
*possibly*
Panty (Angel) - Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt
That last one has possibly the most ridiculous title of anything I have ever seen.
Another thing that I have found online recently was this extremely cute video by Cosplay Fever:
I would just love to be able to make something like that someday with some buddies. :) It is so cute!!

Alpha Hydrox
So, has anyone ever used this "miracle cream"? I read the reviews before I started it, and I decided to go ahead and try it anyway. All the reviews I've read says it turns your skin on your face into a rash of nasty pimples before it clears out your skin to make it more beautiful. I'm on day three, and I can verify this. I've never seen so many red splotches on my forehead and I'm even getting the evil deep zits on my chin again. It's almost enough to make me want to stop using it. But I will try it for a month to see if it starts working. We'll see. I guess this is just a random, useless post. Kind of just to remind myself what I'm experiencing with this lotion as the days go on and it gets worse or hopefully, better.
